Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 9, 2026
Goodfriend Solutions builds apps with privacy at their core. We collect as little as we can, and wherever it's possible, the data you create stays on your own device.
What we collect
As little as possible. Most of our apps have no accounts, no servers, and no analytics platform, and the information you create in them lives on your device where we never see it. Some paid apps, such as our Windows apps, use a license server to run your subscription; what that involves is described under "Purchases and subscriptions" and "Device activation" below.
Data on your device
Where an app stores your data on your device, that data stays there. If your device backs up to a service like Apple iCloud, your app data may be included in that personal backup, governed by that platform's privacy policy, not ours. We have no access to your backups.
Permissions
When one of our apps asks for a system permission (such as Contacts, screen recording, or notifications), it is used only for the feature it's described for, and is never uploaded to us. You can review or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.
When you contact us
When you submit a form on this website (a message, a support request, or a beta invite request), we receive the details you enter, such as your name, email, phone number, and anything you write, so that we can reply. We use this information only to respond to you. We do not sell or share it.
Purchases and subscriptions
Paid apps and subscriptions are billed through the platform's store, for example the Apple App Store or Microsoft Store. We do not process or store your payment information. For billing questions, cancellations, and refunds, use your store account.
Device activation (Windows apps)
On Windows, each subscription is limited to a set number of active devices. When you activate the app, it reads an identifier that Windows itself already stores on your PC (the machine's installation ID) and runs it through a one-way cryptographic process (HMAC-SHA256) that turns it into a fixed, scrambled code. We receive and store only that scrambled code, never the original identifier and never any other hardware serial number, so there is no way for us to reverse it back into information about your PC.
We use that code, along with an optional label you give the device (for example, "Work laptop") and the dates it was activated and last used, for one purpose: counting how many devices your subscription is active on and enforcing your plan's device limit. This applies to our Windows apps only; our iOS and macOS apps do not do this. You can view and remove a device at any time from your account page, which frees that seat immediately. A device's record is also removed automatically when your subscription ends.
Third parties
Our apps contain no third-party advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or tracking libraries. We don't sell your data. In most cases, we never have it to sell.
Per-app details
An individual app may need to collect or handle specific data to do what it does. Where that's the case, it is described inside the app and in that app's privacy details on its store listing.
Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll post the change here and, where relevant, note it in an app's release notes. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
